Here is a quick look at Maskcara Beauty’s IIID Foundation but if you would like to know more about this unique foundation go ahead and read more in depth here.
Maskcara’s IIID foundation is comprised of four main colors for each persons skin tone. Each color is placed in very specific areas on your face to enhance the features you want to enhance and hide the features you don’t.
When starting with Maskcara you will be recommended to start with a highlight, contour, blush (lip + cheek), and illuminator. These can pretty much covers the bases for you unless you are in need of some extra color correcting.
You do not need foundation. This is your foundation. You don’t need to add layers of makeup on top of each other to achieve the look you want. You can learn to place specific colors in the right places and blend them all together flawlessly.
Here’s where we get to the good stuff.
This makes color correcting specific areas super easy because all of Maskcara’s foundation colors are cream based which makes blending super easy.
Most of Maskcara’s highlight foundation colors are yellow based. This is because yellow hides cool toned colors really well, like purple or blue. It is also because yellow catches light easily and gives you a warm, natural glow.
I will talk about each color correcting method below but here is a quick graphic you can save so you can easily remember the color correcting process and which colors you may need for you!
Yellow cancels purple.
If you have under eye circles that have purple tones yellow highlights will correct those well. I recommend Sunlit highlight to correct any purple tones. It is a yellow highlight and will help cancel out purple discoloration. It will also work well on covering up light redness.
Green cancels red.
I have redness in my cheeks this is why I love the highlight color June. It helps to correct my redness easily. June has a greenish undertone and works great on color correcting redness.
Pink cancels brown.
Petal is a very soft pink color that can help cancel out brownish spots that need color correcting.
Orange cancels blue.
I also use Frenchie blush (lip+cheek) to color correct my under eye circles because they have a blue undertone. Frenchie will work great to cancel any blue undertones on fair to light skin. If you have deeper skin you need Mango. (See next paragraph.)
Orange cancels blue.
Mango’s orange tones will help color correct dark blue colors. It’s also great for covering dark redness or other dark discoloration.
These Maskcara highlights and blushes will help cancel out & color correct discoloration on your face. First apply the color you are correcting with where needed and then proceed to your normal HAC process.
